All you prudes need to STFU and realize the days of your repressed sexuality are gone.

Yes, thank you. I agree 110%

People should be grateful that the Isthmus is protected with the constitution of free press.
Those who object to any ads the Isthmus freely prints should move to a country where the gov will be very happy to control what they can and cannot see printed.

Either shut up or accept it. Geez, what a bunch of moronic and uptight prudes.

What did I do? Fall asleep, get kidnapped and dropped somewhere in China?
What the fuck happened to free thinking Madison for Christ's sakes!?

I have no problem with the nude human body. However, that's not what these ads are about.

They are about very young females put in poses with clothing undone, standing in provocative sexually alluring stances. If this was Maxim or Playboy, it would be different.

It is my understanding that Isthmus Daily Page is a community paper. As such it should be representing our community. This type of ad, no matter how well it pays, does not represent you well.

Admittedly, I love my AA sweatshirts and Ts. They fit well. A few weeks ago my brother-in-law asked me if I was a "closeted metro sexual." I guess AA marketing is properly received outside of its target market. So, while looking over the site I see this:

In fact, that image wasn't grabbed off of a porn aggregator, it was grabbed off of AA's site. These ads aren't about AA's clothes. At lease AA has good taste in its models, naturals.

i see American Apparel store on State St closed. That explains why I haven't see their ads on back of Isthmus in a long time. I miss them.

Isthmus seems to be getting regular negative correspondence about the Silk ads. Is it really that big of a deal in this day and age? Anyone on the internet for even five minutes will be exposed to much more.

Christ, I searched "cougar" a few weeks ago because people in Monona were claiming the possible presence of the animal version and the first page had dozens of middle-aged ladies and a couple of actual cats.

Apparently it is for some people. I find the rhetoric to be overheated, but it's not particularly surprising.

No Silk ad in the new issue. Guess they caved to the squeaky wheels.

I noticed that too. Too bad. I've never been to Silk and never will, but I don't like it when the squeaky wheels win.

I agree with the squeaky wheels thing, but still it's nice not to turn the last couple pages and find myself looking at somebody's butt.

Maybe Silk just decided to advertise somewhere else.

Or maybe they just know all the knuckleheads are up north this time of year, peeing over the rails of pontoon boats.

(As "gentlemen" are wont to do.)

I don't think it's a big deal in the scheme of things. I hope Isthmus can afford the revenue loss. People mock, but I don't know the state of their finances. I do know that I'd really miss it if it was gone.

I'd miss it too. The latest issue focusing on Monona was particularly enjoyable.
