Movies at downtown library

Postby Shorty » Wed Nov 28, 2018 8:27 am

Downtown library is showing a soft porn film...starting at 6pm. I'm sure the homeless people there will enjoy it, but that about the kids?

"BOOGIE NIGHTS
United States | 1997 | BD | 155 minutes | Color | English
Director: Paul Thomas Anderson
Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Burt Reynolds, Julianne Moore, Don Cheadle, Heather Graham, William H. Macy, John C. Reilly, Philip Seymour Hoffman

In 1977 sex was safe; pleasure was a business ... and business was booming. Mark Wahlberg, Burt Reynolds, Julianne Moore, Don Cheadle and William H. Macy star as a family of filmmakers struggling to redefine and revolutionize the adult entertainment industry in Paul Thomas Anderson's BOOGIE NIGHTS. Idealistic producer Jack Horner (Burt Reynolds) aspires to elevate his craft into an art form. Teenager Eddie Adams (Mark Wahlberg) discovers a talent that will propel him to celebrity as adult entertainer Dirk Diggler. Now, at a time when disco and drugs are in vogue, fashion is in flux and the party never seems to stop, dreams of turning sex into stardom are about to collide with cold, hard reality."

"THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS
United States | 1991 | 118 minutes | Color | English
Director: Jonathan Demme
Cast: Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Scott Glenn, Ted Levine, Anthony Heald

"In this chilling adaptation of the best-selling novel by Thomas Harris, the astonishingly versatile director Jonathan Demme crafted a taut psychological thriller about an American obsession: serial murder. As Clarice Starling, an FBI trainee who enlists the help of the infamous Hannibal “the Cannibal” Lecter to gain insight into the mind of another killer, Jodie Foster subverts classic gender dynamics and gives one of the most memorable performances of her career. As her foil, Anthony Hopkins is the archetypal antihero—cultured, quick-witted, and savagely murderous—delivering a harrowing portrait of humanity gone terribly wrong. A gripping police procedural and a disquieting immersion into a twisted psyche, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS swept the Academy Awards® (best picture, director, screenplay, actress, actor) and remains a cultural touchstone."
