Three Sisters
By Anton Chekhov

Pericles, Prince of Tyre
By William Shakespeare

IN THE TOUCHSTONE THEATRE

The Maids
By Jean Genet

The Unexpected Man
By Yasmina Reza

Thoughts on any of these?

I've always been a fan of Chekhov, and of course nothing is better than a Shakespeare play.

I've never seen Cyrano and Midsummer is one of my favorites. We are also thinking about Pericles.

This season Comedy of Errors was the only one we wanted to see so we're happy that there's three of them this year.

It always depends on the dates and the timing, but right now, I expect the Irish Mist (Yes!) and I will see:

Up the Hill:
Midsummer Night's Dream (The Bard)
Pericles (the Bard)
Cyrano (Rostand)
Three Sisters (Chekhov).

The only question is Three Sisters; I don't know the play and Anton Chekhov ranges from incredibly insightful to unrelentingly depressing. It is possible we will swap it out for the unknown Flea in Her Ear by Feydeau.

Touchstone:

The Maids (Genet)
A View From the Bridge (Miller)

We usually see one play in the summer in the Touchstone, and then see the rest after Labor Day. Prices and the natural beauty are better in the fall.

Every one of the touchstone plays look depressing as hell. If Mrs Cadfael wants to go I will but otherwise I'll skip it.

Do prices drop later in the summer or are they lower for the fall dates when tickets go on sale? We've never waited, we always go for the best seats we can as soon as we can.
