Are any of you watching Badger basketball this season? Looks like no Ncaa tourney this year.

I don't think they'll make the NIT.
I like Gard. But when you're at home and face 18-1 and 15-2 deficits against average teams, it really makes you wonder. At least it makes me wonder. When did that ever happen to any Bo Ryan team, at any level?

I hesitate to say that these ain't yer Fathers' Badgers, because my Dear nearly 93 year-old Father and myself were a part of the "Faithful 5000.'' And there were a few times back in the mid-to-late 60's when you could have shaved off that last zero.

Little to no defense, sloppy with the ball, lethargic without it, little to no off-ball movement, not cutting hard off screens, not finishing up through contact at the rim, not hitting the boards, etc.

With the exception of Happ, and to an extent Iverson, the Junior class hasn't developed the way anyone hoped.

Thomas & VV have been, for all intents and purposes, AWOL. I had hopes that Thomas would be that nasty low post beast that owned the paint that we haven't had since Charlie Wills, and VV would be a 3 point assassin pulling long-armed defenders to the perimeter to open up driving lanes.

It's a one-year hiccup; this too shall pass.

ON WISCONSIN!!

They are 11-16 and won't make NIT at that rate. First losing big10 record since 97-98. 20 yrs was a good run.

They are making a run and won 3 in a row. But face MSU to end season so will lose that and finish 14-17 and 9th in big 10. Even with a good big 10 tourney they probably won't make NIT.

Going to NCAA tourney: MSU, OSU, Purd, Neb, Mich.
On the bubble for NCAA: PSU, Mary.
NIT: Indy
On the bubble for NIT: Minn, NW, UW

Their only hope to make the NCAA tourney is to win the Big Ten tournament. And that is a very long shot.

@Henry Vilas;

Yeah, the NCAA Tourney is a REAL longshot. But last year Michigan took it all as an 8 seed (Badgers 9 seed today) starting on Thursday (after a plane mishap and without their uniforms) and took it all, whupping Bucky in the final.

I'm hoping but not hopeful.

Glass half full?

Nice to see V.V. doing what he could all along, stretch the defense and dead-eye 3 point shooting.

Pritz is getting his groove (back?)

Give Ivy, who's assembling a nice highlight reel of dunks, half a crease and he's going to make you's pay. I'm looking forward to him & the returning Meetch developing a thunderous Alley Oop.

Wait'll we see a healthy Davison playing his natural position.

Reuvers needs about 30 pounds from the waist up, and while I got 10 I can spare, he needs a steady diet of Micky's Scramblers and the weight room.

I think Happ will come back.

I agree.
But wouldn't that be amazing? One of these years, a team will go on an improbable run like that. This is the type of team that could pull it off if it's possible.

Good game, though. Gives me hope for next year -- they'll just need to play like that (except with better free throws!) all season :)

A LOT of valuable playing time for some younger guys this year. Will be interesting to see the dividends coming off the bench next year.
