Jayme

Looks like the "psycho cheese factory worker" will be in the news a while. Giving north western WI bad publicity. Don't open your door for strangers at night.

"in the news for a while"
"bad publicity"
"don't open your door for strangers at night"

A 13 year old girl watches her parents get murdered in front of her eyes, lives in horror for months, finds it in herself to escape, and these are the things that come to mind? Should people bother to call you out on this shit anymore?

Starting a topic on this is creep behavior and I hope admin shuts it down immediately.

Yes those came to my mind, massimo. I don't see anything wrong with them. What do you have to say about the Jayme crime? Or what would you rather discuss? Can you say anything constructive?

snoqueen wrote:Starting a topic on this is creep behavior and I hope admin shuts it down immediately.

It's the big story in the local and national news. Do you think that is creep behavior by the media and the millions reading about it? Why do you not want it discussed? Did you prefer the 1950''s when crimes likes this were a taboo that weren't publicized? Why do you support censorship?

Does my posting violate any of the forum rules here? I don't think so. Do postings made by others that attack and insult members here violate the rules and common courtesy? I think so.

Who had Shorty for "Most insensitive cretin on the forum"?

That's from a different topic, but the creation of the present topic shows why you won that award. Quit whining and justifying, and grow up. If we eventually discuss coming legal proceedings, it'll be way different from obsessively internet-stalking this person, who deserves nothing but privacy and sensitivity for as long as possible. Give it to her and lay off.

There's a reason the press doesn't follow the minor children of the President, to give another example. They deserve space to grow up as normally as possible given their circumstances. So does this person.

Nobody can write rules that define sensitivity and common courtesy, qualities that come from within. Your behavior indicates you are lacking them. The wisest course is to quit advertising it and move on. I usually don't bother with the forum's lowest hanging fruit but this isn't about you at all. It's about a young person who deserves much better.

Hopefully the perp will plead guilty and avoid a trial.

The suspect is a young man, quiet and shy, played a lot of computer games, owned a gun, military aspirations (kicked out of Marines), and had employment trouble. Fits the usual profile except he had no criminal history.

"Jim Moyer, the grandfather of the alleged kidnapper, told ABC News that the family was unaware of his actions.
"Something went terribly wrong, nobody had any clues ... We are absolutely heartbroken. It's wrenching to deal with," he said. "He was shy and quiet, he backed off from crowds, but a nice boy, polite. Computer games were more of a priority than social interaction.""

If the Marines could tell he wasn't fit for service after 5 weeks, why couldn't his family and friends tell he had big problems?

When he drove up to Closs's home, Jayme was awoken by her barking dog. When he was inside shooting and kidnapping, did the dog keep barking or try to attack him? Did he shoot and kill it? I would think so. But when Jayme escaped and returned home, photos were shown of her reunited with her dog.

Kidnap suspect apparently applied for job day Jayme Closs escaped

"Saratoga Liquor Co. in Superior, Wisconsin, says it received an online application from Patterson about midday on the day that Jayme escaped. In a resume provided by the company, Patterson listed nine months in the Marines in 2017. A Marine spokeswoman has said Patterson washed out after five weeks of basic training. Patterson describes himself on the resume as "an honest and hardworking guy."

Lots of people wash out of the Marines for all sorts of reasons. It doesn't mean you're a murderer or likely to become one.
I'm not a big fan of looking for reasons to blame families, teachers, what have you for not predicting this type of thing. Everything seems obvious in hindsight.
