Is The Crucible a bar with a Salem Witch Trials theme?

Re: New Year's Eve parties
Q: What kinds of events will you host?
A: A wide variety of dark and/or quirky events. We have a monthly cosplay dance night, steampunk nights, live music, and burlesque or drag acts on our working calendar.

Shorty probably won't go because too many people will have tattoos.
Re: New Year's Eve parties
Sounds too dark for me. Children's museum is more my type.
Are you going to a NYE party?

Re: New Year's Eve parties
We're starting our evening with dinner at Delmonico's, and then going to an event (don't think it qualifies as a party, maybe a sorta-party) at Barleypop and Tap. It will be festive. There may or may not be tattoos, which don't bother me at all.
Re: New Year's Eve parties
I plan to watch a NYE show on TV and have a little brandy. If I fall asleep before the ball drops, that's okay.

Mar-a-lago party sounds fun.
Trump’s Dilemma: Go To Mar-a-Lago And Get Criticized? Or Disappoint Dues-Paying Members?
https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/trump-di ... 38766.html
"Is it worse to disappoint your rich, dues-paying club members who have shelled out $1,000 a ticket to mingle with you at your Palm Beach resort’s New Year’s Eve party? Or to attend and have photographs taken of your Secret Service detail protecting you amid the Champagne and caviar while they worry about their next paycheck?
Such are the horns of the dilemma President Donald Trump faces in the coming days because of the partial government shutdown he forced in an attempt to get billions of American taxpayer dollars to build his border wall — a border wall that he originally promised Mexico would pay for.
“For any normal president, travel to Mar-a-Lago would be completely out of the question,” said Norm Eisen, who was a White House ethics lawyer under President Barack Obama and is now chairman of the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. “But then, any normal president would not be operating a for-profit resort to benefit himself, selling memberships at that resort to those with special interests before his White House and then squeezing extra money out of those people for a New Year’s Eve party.”
Whether Trump winds up going to Florida is not known and perhaps — given his track record — not knowable until the party is underway. First lady Melania Trump flew to Palm Beach via Air Force jet Thursday, and his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner, both White House advisers, were spotted there earlier in the week.
Donald Trump’s incoming chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, told Fox News on Friday morning that the president would remain in Washington. “He’s canceled his plans for Christmas. Now he’s canceled his plans for New Year’s,” Mulvaney said."

We've done that. That's not a bad evening at all. 30 years ago we watched South Pacific in the early part of the evening while it snowed outside. That caused us to decide to go to Jamaica. We've gone somewhere in the tropics during the winter every year since.
Re: New Year's Eve parties
Snow/ice coming. Won't be a good time to be out driving with the drunks.
Re: New Year's Eve parties
There are alternatives is driving. Madison has free buses. And some places have free taxis. So if you get too drunk to drive - don't.
Me and him are staying home. My only hope to cheering the new year at midnight is if I take a nap on the couch.

I know what just you mean. Our party alternatives are within a radius of 120 feet, so if we can't ably walk the return route, we can surely wriggle.Madsci wrote:There are alternatives is driving.
Re: New Year's Eve parties
It is slippery out there. We went out for dinner and then headed home for the drinking part of our evening. Shoveled the sidewalk first. Bad enough that it's heavy, but it also sticks to the shovel.
