If all those who are prohibited by federal or state law from possessing firearms are locked up, we need to spend billions more for secured facilities. That is hardly a rational solution.

If all those people truly are dangerous...so dangerous that they should be stripped of their constitutionally protected rights for the rest of their lives...then we need to find the funding to lock 'em up. That's common sense.

However, that is a might big "if" - not everyone who is banned from bearing arms are an actual threat to society. Re-evaluate the reasons why someone is deemed as "dangerous" and then the financial cost will be far lower than what you currently beleive it to be.

So what is your criteria for locking people up who have lost their right to possess a firearm? You seem to make that judgement only after someone goes on a shooting rampage. That is Monday morning quarterbacking on your part.

I wonder what the NRA'S position on closing those loopholes will be. I'm sure legislation to do that will be introduced.
