My neighbor forgot he was warming up his car. After I noticed 2 hours later and asked, he gave me a decent reason. For warming it up, not forgetting about it. It was an odd encounter, like he didn't realize that I was being a good neighbor. Oh well

"Our stolen auto statistics for January of 2018 are quite eye opening. We had 57 stolen autos in the city which is a 72% increase over Jan of 2017. Of those, 94% had the keys in the car and 71% were unlocked and running.

As I am am writing this, another 3 cars were just stolen this morning on the west side. What a way to start February! We need your help! Please help us by reminding your friends, your neighbors and your family to LOCK YOUR VEHICLES!!!!"

We had a Jeep stolen from in front of our house. Cops found it a week later.

I was up around 7 this morning and saw that my neighbor had TWO unattended cars running in his driveway. One of them was gone 20 minutes later.

I guess they either don't watch the news, or are of the belief that crime only happens to other people.

Perhaps they were locked?

I assume not, Beaver, but I don't know for sure. Haven't seen any cops come over to investigate when I've been around.

To be fair to them, it's possible that they are able to keep an eye on things from inside. The irony is that someone living on the same block had their car stolen under similar circumstances a few weeks ago.

It would be fun to fit a junk car with an exhaust steam generator and an electronic running engine sound generator. Lil' shitstain gets in, discovers there's no steering wheel.

And the door can only be opened from the outside.

Plus the heater/air conditioner emits a horrible odor which sticks to their clothes and makes them throw up, in addition to the spraying them with red ink, like how Egypt put permanent dye in their water cannons so rioters could be apprehended later if they were stained whichever color was being used.
