Walker's new job

Postby Shorty » Tue Nov 20, 2018 3:51 pm

Scott Walker is looking for new job. Let's help him with suggestions. So far I came up with custodian, prison guard, or Uber driver. What are your suggestions?

Walker hasn't had a job in the public sector since his college drop-out days. I wonder if he has sent his resume to the Koch brothers.

My guess is some sort of sinecure at a right wing think tank. So, could very well be working for the Koch Brothers. Just like when he was governor.

Walker to be a paid fund raiser for conservative causes.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says he plans to give speeches across the country advocating for conservative issues like returning powers to the states and tax reform.

I have to wonder how effective a fund-raiser Walker will be given that other Midwestern Republican governors were distancing themselves from him and I am pretty sure his bid for President came in behind some write-in votes for LaRouche.

I think it's welfare for failed Republican governors.

He didn't fail. He did exactly what he was hired to do. Now they're paying him for it, through the agreed-upon channels.

Well yeah, I anticipated that objection, and it's true from that perspective. My point is that he failed the people of Wisconsin. That's who he was supposed to be working for, he just didn't.

I agree that it is welfare for failed Republican governors - so will he be willing to take a drug test and sweep floors or shovel shit 30 hours a week and whatever else his ilk were proposing?

I remember Governor Thompson being quite the handful for progressives to deal with and his usual propaganda targets also were the welfare recipients and teachers but it seems like he had a basic level of human respect for people which Walker and his buddies in the Legislature couldn't show even when it would have helped. In fact, the legislators like Vos and others are worse, so there is still a bit of work to be done in 2020.

Makes sense he won't have a regular office job. The last 8 years he has been traveling around making speeches instead of staying here doing Governor work, so this will be more of the same for him.

I think calling him a failed governor is too much praise. It implies he tried to be a governor.

He didn't fail the people of Wisconsin, he betrayed them. He's not getting welfare, he's getting pieces of silver.

Shorty was close, but not precisely. My suggestion: licence plate manufacturer at Waupun "Correctional" Institution. And now, at long last - GOOD RIDDANCE WALKER.
Only consolation for these last eight hellish years of the Walker regime is - at least the Kimberly Clark deal isn't as bad an example of corporate welfare as the $4 billion Foxconn fiascol!
