Since I haven't seen the thread yet... I Voted!

Postby kissyfish » Tue Nov 06, 2018 8:33 am

I have never been so happy to vote, but then again, I believe I felt that two years ago.

Anyway, #33 Shorewood Hills.

No matter who for, VOTE!

#176 at 8am in Maple Bluff. Waited about 15 minutes in line. Busiest I've ever seen for a midterm in the village.

Maybe that's where they went to cast their fraudulent votes. If you're going to cheat, may as well do it somewhere nice!

Unfortunately, I already knew you were naive.

I was 747 at Black Hawk Middle...the computer there is projecting a turnout of almost 5000...that site averages about 1500. 5k would be larger than the Presidential election turnout there.

730 at Blackhawk Church at 10:40. A nice line that took about 10 minutes.

#702 in my small town with a population of about 5k

Must be expecting a heavy turnout. They had the tables where the ballots are handed out split into four sections rather than the usual three.

I voted two weeks ago at my local library. The smart way.

After I voted I headed to Woodman's Liquor and bought a bottle of Don Julio anejo. I'll open it tonight to either celebrate or to drown my sorrows.

#447 at Olbrich Gardens at bout 9:00a. About twenty people in line to confirm their identity and sign the poll books, including a woman ahead of me who was walking through in-person absentee ballots (she gave address info for three people and got three numbered slips in return). The other poll workers said that if they didn't start processing them early they would "be here until 2:00 in the morning!"

For some reason I found the fine tip markers really annoying. It seemed to take forever to fill in the little ovals, then color them in again, then do it one more time just to be sure. Ballot-marking overkill would be much easier and faster with medium tips! I guess I'm a little more anxious about voting this year than I'd thought...

As I was leaving I crossed paths with a bus load of 4th or 5th graders headed into the garden. I was going to say, "Way to stuff the ballot box!" but didn't want anyone to take it wrong so I'm just saying it here  I think the kids were back out under the front portico before I had even caught my bus (maybe 10 minutes later?) so perhaps not such great weather for a field trip after all.
