Where to travel?

Never heard of it.

You got Split, Croatia! Lose yourself in the ancient city of Split and explore the locations of shows such as Game of Thrones.

Most of the continental USA. All states except NW ones and Maine. Bit of Canada.

Low travel miles is one way I help the environment. What do you for the environment? Just heavy travel and lots of meat eating to pollute it?

a number of relatives were and are splitchani so i spent a lot of time there and still do and it is a wonderful place . . . one location is the city synagogue which is actually built into the city walls . . . for a long time it was closed to the public for repairs of water damage and the like but is open now and the entire city is like nothing else. also pula, with a coliseum more complete than the one in rome, rovinj and the environs of trieste i would i would point out, as well as the isles of korčula and hvar amongst all the others . . . and of course dubrovnik, which was its own country for a long time and the first to recognise united states independent (ahead of morocco by a few months) and whose emblem is the second of the five pieces of the crown* atop the hrvatski grb† on the croatian flag) . . .

---
* left to right: zagreb and environs, dubrovnik, dalmatia, istria, and slavonia
† the five by five chequerboard beginning with a red square in the upper left corner; the one starting a white square is used for bosnia and hercegovina or simply west hercegovina by some, and in the past it has been as large as 8x8. the colours red and white come from the old persian system of using colours for compass directions -- c f the black sea, red sea, white sea, some locations called silver in the local vernacular . . . .

When it gets cold here in Wisconsin it tends to be warm in Alaska, sometimes even in the 50s, so maybe that is a good place to go.
