What do you think caused his problems? Too much travel, or too much rich food?

Mental illness is still hung with mystery and stigma. I think the well known people (all that fame and money and it couldn't even save them) coming out have done a huge service.

I don't know if he was mentally ill or not. If you believe that suicide is proof of mental illness (and I'm not saying you do, I could be drawing the wrong inference), then yeah, he would be by definition.
I'm very surprised by this. I knew that he had some substance abuse issues in his past, but he outwardly gave the appearance of someone who really enjoyed life. I enjoyed his work.

He had tattoos. The warning signs were there. I liked his shows though.

I don't have big problems because I eat healthy comfort food and travel little.

So Beav, by your logic if you get a little ink you'll get laid. And die a tragic death.

is it possible that he given the news of a fulminating, extremely painful cancer or degenerative illness . . . it didn't have to be eternal payback for getting more than most people or whatever . . . in any case that doesn't sound like a huge mitigation -- on the face of it a horribly tragic turn of events . . .

Take this for the speculation that it is, but I've read that he's been working extremely hard, had recently been keeping to himself when not working, and was having relationship issues with his girlfriend. I guess he reached a point where it was all just too much. Of course we'll never really know.

I was watching CBS Sunday Morning. The Dr. in the feature about the latest suicides said "up to 90% of them have pre-existing mental illnesses." So much over compensating and it doesn't fill "the hole in the soul".

I'm guessing this was aimed at me. If you disagree with what I posted, why not just explain why?
