I seem to remember hearing that bit of lore several years ago, so I wouldn't reject it out of hand.

Despite cohen having "no doubt at all", suffice to say, there's plenty of doubt.

He was also the 1st real rock star to accept Cynthia "plaster Caster's" offer, she said. "And it took off from there."

Along the same line, there is the documentary about the Rolling Stones: "Cocksucker Blues."

That Guardian link has some funny shit, a "modest Hendrix" being the funniest! Jimi had a well documented sex life prior to becoming a star, and that continued until his death. Read any of Steven Roby's excellent Hendrix books. Jimi James Hendrix was anything but a shy prude when it came to his sexuality, which became inextricably intertwined with this musical craft.

My son was working in a sound studio in Seattle when Jimi's brother, Leon, strolled in to record his CD "Keeper of the Flame" and is credited as "Assistant engineer" on the CD. He told me, "The thing about Leon is that someone had to show him how to play the blues licks because he didn't know how." He said he worked with him for 8-9 months and that Leon was quite the story teller, and that it was an interesting family according to Leon: https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/leonhendrix

A neat 7 part series that's about an hour long total: Jimi Hendrix by those who knew him best

There's a neat pic gallery in the airport lobby (until June 15) of famous and not so famous acts that played Madison in the 60s, with a few of Scott's pics of Hendrix backstage at the Factory just as he described them... A lot of cool stuff , kids! : )

The Hard Rock Cafe folks have just digitized Jimi's little black address book circa 1969 and plan to make it available for viewing shortly. I don't think that Brian Jones will answer at the number listed. Neither will Sammy Davis Jr. or a host of other entries. Still, a fascinating look into a list of folks who Jimi cared enough about to write down their names, address and phone numbers.
