Fraboni's on Regent St. closed
I will miss it. The one behind Angelo's on Monona Ave. is still open.

It doesn't say why. Business too slow there?
Re: Fraboni's on Regent St. closed
That's a punch in the gut. I'm probably not going to go to Monona to get 18" linguine for clam sauce, Bulgarian feta and spiced Moroccan olives. I would've figured they could stay open on the lunch rush alone...

Best meatball sub ever. This is my fault. I haven't bought one since last June. I'll have to check out the Monona store. I didn't know it was there but now that I do, it's actually in a better location for me to check it out for lunch now and then.

The Monona location is nice, with friendly staff and way better parking than Regent St.

the Regent St. property must be worth a fortune if some developer wants it.

I could have sworn that article didn't say why, last time I read it. But when I read it a few minutes ago it explained everything. Steve and Gary Fraboni ran the business, Steve had this store and Gary took Monona. And Steve retired, and they couldn't find and keep workers anyway. So, consolidation. The business is there but the workers aren't so it's not worth finding a new manager.
