Lots'a Pizza is coming to State St. Opens in a few weeks. This will shorten the lines at Ian's.

Um... the ".ph" in the URL didn't clue you in that you might have the wrong place, Beav? Or the outlets as far as Vigan City, Ilocos Sur in Northern Luzon, and Coron, Palawan in Southern Luzon?

It's Lotsa, no ’.

And yeah, it's a chain... of two. About to be four, when Madison & West Lafayette (Purdue) open.

This coincident with the party school rating ...

I would hope City council and the Mayor could form a consensus on this.

He can veto liquor licenses forever and it won't bring the kind of retail he wants back to State Street. Now, if he could veto the existence of Amazon and e-commerce in general, then maybe, just maybe, there'd be hope. But the dude's just futilely flailing away, and it's getting to be a little sad.

This is so true.

Retail is evidently dead and cannot be resurrected by any city committee. At the same time, it's hard to believe how many coffee shops can coexist in six blocks, and how much team logo apparel students are willing to buy.

The city needs to accept this reality and move on.

I don't think I can vote for this fossil again. If he wanted to fix downtown, he should have started by not allowing the developers to tear half of it down so thirsty, rich college kids and 20-somethings could live in high rises.

I'm pretty sure you won't have to face that choice. I think he knows he won't run again, and that's why he does stuff like this. It also explains why he wants to speed up the annexation of the Town of Madison. It's all about the legacy now.

It amazes me that a rental office is now taking up a prime spot on State Street where Steep & Brew used to be. That just seems silly.

Retail bright spot: I love that there's a Fjällräven store on lower State. I already owned my backpack, but I bought the matching laptop sleeve there and my husband has scored a couple shirts and a great pair of pants.

Back to Lotsa: Soglin was, is now, and ever shall be an opportunistic, manipulative fuck. You traded an earnest, pragmatic, Madison-loving mayor for Soglin because Soglin knew how to pluck at your "TIF is the devil" heartstrings, when he actually had no such conviction. Feh.
