YELP users

Postby port » Sun Nov 04, 2012 8:30 am

Greetings to all TDP readers. My first post-so be kind! I am curious about other readers experience with the online rating site YELP. I am fairly new to Madison and use YELP to find restaurants I might be interested in. I enjoy BBQ and YELP gave a place called the Brickhouse BBQ a decent rating--since we were downtown, we stopped in. It was a very bad experience-food and service. Later on in the evening I was told YELP filters their reviews to advantage those businesses that advertise with them and to see the actual ratings you have to scroll all the way down to click on the "unfiltered" reviews. Well, lets just say if I would have seen those I would not have stopped in...many one star ratings--all warning about the service and food. SO..besides this forum, is there another site for good restaurant ratings/discussions in the Madison area? Thanks in advance

A Yelp reviewer called me consistently lousy, which made my day.
