Hey all - don't have much tiime or inclination to explain my prolonged absence - none of it is good or glamorous. Plus I seem to be very MAC-challenged, as in I should be in a MAC special olympics (or limpets, as the case may be). I miss you all and will post again when when I'm more coherent and le...

Two things I REALLY miss from when Ella's was on State - borscht (sp? Looks odd) and blintzes. Never been to the EW (har) location. Do they still offer those items?

Yes, it was Central High. Remember the funny smell when you walked into Kresge's? We'd go there to use the photo booth. There was a restaurant called King Burger where you ordered via a phone from your booth. For some reason that just cracked us up when we were kids. We used to play ditch in the Cap...

Can't speak to the sound quality, but we had an unofficial work party there, and we really enjoyed the room. They have an interesting menu for a pool hall/bar, too, though I haven't tried it yet. The manager was good to work with.

School shopping at Manchester's was an annual mother-daughter ritual. Loved riding that elevator! They wore gloves, too.

Re: Madisonians - Where are you???

* MATC downtown was Madison High? * when you could swim in Madison lakes w/o fear of algae and other pollutants? These are the only two I can't remember, though not sure about Warner Park. My little world was largely restricted to Jennifer/Willy street on the east side, the downtown area, and Hilld...

Bwis, what about moving out to the Hilldale area? There used to be some pretty reasonable apartments in that neighborhood and the bus service should be good for getting downtown/to co-op. Not ideal, but I just don't think the quiet parts of downtown are affordable. I think prof w. & auntgoodness...

I've always liked the pastrami at Gino's deli out here in Middleton. Is this even better?

I haven't been to NYC for years, fun to remember Katz's from when I was a little kid. They had a GIANT cat that sat in the front window all day, I loved to look at it.

Many, many moons ago.

I don't take Metro for obvious reasons (live in Iowa Co., work in Middleton). What is it about the transfer points that doesn't work? Are they in the wrong places, or is it a scheduling issue, or both? I would have thought that a hub/spoke set-up would be the natural solution, is that not what the T...
