Re: Thursday Night Fights

Donald Trump Triumphed in Last Night’s Republican Debate If you enjoy a little Friday schadenfreude, check out this summary of the Repub party punditocracy's horror over the debate. The #NeverTrump movement seems to have fizzled, but we'll see. Probably the only way to stop Trump was to rally behin...

Re: The Trump for Fuehrer Thread

The fascinating aspect of that redneck decking the black protester was that the cop who was escorting the guy out of the arena didn't arrest the assailant. The redneck was old, but he hit with a very hard punch to the head, a real roundhouse. The black dude went down hard. I saw him interviewed, his...

Re: Thursday Night Fights

I'm watching Charles Krauthammer and Megan Kelly commiserate on the telly. They are both vexed. They wanted punches thrown at Trump, of course, and The Donald cruised through without a scratch. Maybe this debate helps the REpublican brand. Can't have everything. I'm satisfied that the GOP is now Tru...

Re: Thursday Night Fights

Very tame and stiff. Boring is good - I like that Trump is at the helm of the SS GOP, no course correction needed.

Re: The Trump for Fuehrer Thread

Ben Carson endorses Donald Trump!

This too much fun.

This actually helps CRuz, given his strategy. It will help kill off Rubio and Kasich on Tuesday. The long term effect is practically zero anyway. Timing is everything.

Re: The Bernie Sander's Portlandia Campaign

slick, I'm fine with Bernie's statement taken in isolation. As a justification for his offensive remark - not so much. I don't want to pull a Hank and ignore your questions, so please let me off the witness stand. We're splitting hares and those innards aren't pretty.

Re: Bernie supporters change their tune on Super Delegates?

That's pretty much what I thought you'd say. My feeling is, fifty one percent is still a win and using the superdelegates to place the 49 percenter is an injustice. If the voters are roughly split, and the superdelegates have a decisive view, it is absolutely in the party interests to allow the sup...

Re: Bernie supporters change their tune on Super Delegates?

I have no problem with superdelegates settling any very close race - that's a statistical tie.

Wake me when superdelegates create a substantial injustice. Until then, it is all hypothetical victimization. The issue has been overblown and distorted.

Re: Bernie supporters change their tune on Super Delegates?

But I think what you're saying is that if Hillary's superdelegates had actually voted for her in 2008, she'd have won the nomination. Is that correct? I never thought about it or verified it, but that ought to be true. Yes. It is probably hard to verify because before the actual convention vote, su...

What's not to buy? Do you think that he's racist against whites?

In pandering to black voters, he made an offensive remark. No, I don't think he is racist.

Re: The Bernie Sander's Portlandia Campaign

I'm not buying Bernie's explanation there.

That said, Hillary has been the queen of pandering to African American voters this season.

Re: Bernie supporters change their tune on Super Delegates?

If the purpose of superdelegates is to avoid secret backroom deals when there is no clear cut winner among awarded delegates, then let them sit out the first couple rounds of voting. That makes no sense. First round of voting maybe. Why would horse-trading among pledge delegates be any more valid t...

Re: Bernie supporters change their tune on Super Delegates?

This means that even after losing the popular vote, Clinton currently has 68 delegates from Michigan to 65 for Sanders. I'm gonna try one more time. This is baloney analysis designed to stir your passion. It is bogus to lump pledge and superdelegate counts. pledge delegates are gold coins. superdel...

Re: Bernie supporters change their tune on Super Delegates?

How much did Hillary's huge superdelegate lead help her against Obama in 2008? Obama won by more than the superdelegate count. They didn't help because the race wasn't close at all. Your comparison is disingenuous. Heard interesting fact yesterday. Hillary's pledge delegate lead today is larger tha...
