Re: Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun?

I'm old enough to recall when the murder of an entire Kansas farm family in 1959 (later the subject of Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood")
sent shock-waves across the nation.

Now this sort of thing seems to happen everyday and is no longer shocking.

Re: Israel's war crimes

I've noticed that when civilians are killed - in any conflict anywhere in the world - the side that did the killing always accuses the other of hiding among the civilians and using them for shields. One rather doubts that is always the case.

Re: The Vitriolic Walker Hate.

As I recall, Governor Walker's philosophy all along has been "Divide and Conquer" . Should we be surprised if that stirs up some vitriol?

Re: Madison Breed Specific Pit Bull Ordinance

Most shelters require pets to be neutered and have their shots too. Some even offer these services which is why adoption fees are relatively high. I know of one at least that will even check and retrieve the animal if the adopter hasn't complied. Poor people usually don't get their pets from shelter...

Re: Madison Breed Specific Pit Bull Ordinance

I did hear on Joy Cardin's show this morning an advocate for shelter pets say a major reason people didn't spay or neuter was poverty. Such a law could cause them to have their pets confiscated. So I guess this need some re-thinking but something really needs to be done about the millions of healthy...

Re: Madison Breed Specific Pit Bull Ordinance

Vicious dogs rarely come from responsible caring families, as the article below states. I am in favor of requiring spaying/neutering for this breed in particular as too many jerks are making a quick buck by breeding them and selling them to idiots who want the dog for their image or worse. Given the...

Re: Owls on the prowl

Actually their breeding and nesting season is in January and February. In addition to eating rodents, these large owls are also known to kill and eat house cats - another of many good reasons to keep Tabby indoors.

Re: Ace Meadowood going out of Business

There was a Sentry store there in the 80's. Prices were somewhat higher and the store never seemed very busy.
