All our worst habits in one graphic

If that won't display right, here is the source link to click so you can read the fine print and give credit to the guy who did the graphic. I think he hits just about every piece of gamesmanship we see on the forum on a regular basis, and no one here is exempt. Also, his examples are hilarious.

What is this, a rhetoric class? I read some of them and now my head hurts.

Although I may be guilty of some of these habits, they are not my worst. That is unless you just include what I submit to this forum.

Thanks for this. I read it and will reread it several times. Some it might even stick.

Always good to review, but the definition of "begging the question" is not right. Begging the question isn't "Making a claim while leaving out one or more major contributing factors that may affect the conclusion." At best that's a crude way of putting it.

It means circular reasonsing, i.e., that the premises contain, somewhere, an assumption of the truth of the conclusion.

An accurate definition with examples can be found here:

the shocking thing is that fox and msnbc can be watched for 12 hours (this requires ketamine or angel dust) and see fewer than five entries on that chart. it is insulting to call it propaganda, coz that is an ancient art and science as good or bad as the end to which it is put. the eighth lively art, in fact.

If'ing you are willing,
I would like to hear about the notion of the "eighth lively art".

Is it something like this:

If is is,
The young'ns introduced me to that content.
It is unclear who violates this more in our house,
'Tis interesting - no less.
