Help me pick out a restaurant for tonight's date

Where are you eating and what do you think? What's opening, closing, succeeding, failing?

Help me pick out a restaurant for tonight's date

Postby zeropoint » Fri Jun 27, 2014 11:16 am

Hi all--

I have a date tonight and am having trouble choosing where to go. Suggestions would be welcome. Here's what you need to know.

We're meeting around 6, so lots of places will be crowded. Best if we could find a place that takes reservations or isn't too crowded.

I am vegetarian and love ethnic food; he is more meat and potatoes. He did throw out Italian as an option.

We prefer a place that serves alcohol.

What do you think? Thanks!

Eldorado grill takes reservations and has a fair number of vegetarian options and he'll be happy with the chicken fired steak:

Also....smoking gun Martinis -- lots of them --- unless you need him to be "useful" later in the evening.

Umami right up the road too. El Dorado will be busy. You should call now.

If it's not too late, Porta Bella.

Gargantua, you misspelled "Osteria Papavero."

So what was verdict, 0-pt.? If it were me, I'd have gotten away from central Madison, given the time constraint. But it just depends ...

And may you never suffer the indignity of Porta Bella.

I don't think this relationship will last.

Good luck with that. I won't comment on their posts anymore because there have been about 10 of them without any feedback, a thank you for recs, or a follow up of any sorts. Part of me doesn't believe this person is real.

But it says right there that they are a "senior member". how could TDPF allow bogus members to attain such a rank?
