Where can I buy affordable plus-size dresses?

Postby zeropoint » Mon Jun 16, 2014 10:33 am

I'm looking for places that sell affordable plus size dresses that are not hideous. Anybody know of good places aside from department stores (which usually have about 2 dresses to choose from)? I am not looking for formalwear.

Can you define "affordable"?

You'll be amazed at what you can find at St.Vinny's. My theory is that there is some rich, fat lady with great taste, that passes things on to St. Vinny's.

I got some nice things at TJ Maxx. Sales at Macy's.

The fastest and cheapest ways I've found is to get online, even with the postage!

Land's End has almost everything available in plus sizes on their website. The store on the west side by Target has a small selection of plus size clothing in the store so you can get an idea of sizes but you'll likely have to order most things. You can get free shipping if you buy $50 or more or if you order from the store or from the Land's End in a Sears store. You can get free returns in the store or at the branch in Sears. Sign up for the email list and they have coupon codes all the time. There's also the warehouse clearance sale in Dodgeville next month for the real deals but they seldom have much for dresses.

It's a long bus ride, but Pink Poodle on Odana Road has a shit ton of second-hand women's clothes. The owner is really snobby and only buys/sells nice stuff.
