Madison racism

Postby johnfajardohenry » Mon Apr 07, 2014 5:09 pm

This thread is for Henry, Wack Wack and others to discuss all the racism that they see in others. Perhaps the can also discuss the racism that seems to be rampant in Madison.

In any event, perhaps they can avoid dragging the issue into other threads where it does not belong.

Hopefully they will keep in mind Matthew 7:3

Madison may be the most racist city in the USA according to this:

You can run but you can't hide; from the other thread:

Let's assume this is true: Madison, WI is the single most racist city in the whole United States of America. Maybe the entire world.

SO WHAT?

Does that lessen the racist nature of the deep south? Not one single bit. Does that lessen the truth that the south generally embraces offensive behavior, excuses it, doubles down on it when called? Nope, not one bit.

Does it lessen the likelihood that Hobby Lobby with thrive in the south and die in the north? Nope, not one bit.

And we'd be a lot better off as a society if people would stop keeping Bible verses in mind.

Just to clear up what actually is being talked about:

rac·ism ˈrāˌsizəm the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, esp. so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races

So the premise being brought forward is that most people in Madison, especially the makers&shakers but also the majority of the citizens in general, has a beleif that their race is superior to other races and/or other races are inferior to theirs, and city laws and policies have been enacted in support of this beleif.

Discuss

EDITED to add: I don't agree with the stated premise, rather simply defining it

Penquin, I don't think people will want to discuss racism with that definition. Get with the times, kiddo... there's something called "modern racism" which is a far more subtle (and vague) sort of beast. It's a many-headed Hydra which includes concepts such as "white privilege."

So can someone explain why you rarely see black people shopping at the Dane County Farmer's Market?

I don't know if Madison is racist, but in my time here I have learned a few things about the Negro.

You do understand that is far more offensive than it is funny, right?

It is offensive, and you need to quit thinking you are cute.

Cheap.

I don't care if you don't get the joke and are offended, you are a politically correct, prickly twat, regularly. I would be concerned if somebody didn't recognize the topical irony of the joke - commenting on racism and parodying Bundy - but you knew it was a joke and decided to have a superiority dance.

I truly do not care if people are offended by what is easily understood to be parody. Did you write indignant letters to Steven Colbert for his Ding Dong Chong parody? I didn't find his joke funny, but I got the point and let it roll off my back. Whether a person finds a joke funny is hit or miss.
