Which Candy Matches Your Political View?

Postby city2countrygal » Sat Feb 15, 2014 12:00 am

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day (candy hearts, chocolate, etc.), what does your candy of choice say about your political leaning?

Milk duds and tootsie rolls are too far apart.

I call fraud.

Yow! Most of my favorites are affiliated with either high-turnout Republicans or low-turnout Democrats. No wonder I feel conflicted about most elections (but it's still doubtful I'd either vote for--or fail to show up to vote against--the likes of Scooter and his cohort). Ms Scratch will be particularly disappointed the Cadbury Creme Eggs' showing.

Hey, Bdog, where do you suppose Girl Scout cookies would place?

Chart is rather confusing and arbitrary looking. I like candy's in different categories.

Was it his support of Jelly Bellys that earned Reagan all those Democratic votes in '84?

Is there another flavor?
Perhaps there is, presently it is all 'bananas' to me.

For me, there has always been the reese's peanut butter cup, and every other earthly pleasure far below it. This is going to sound like a corny Abraham Lincoln story, but when I was a kid I would walk 5 miles through the woods to buy reese's cups at a little country store.

If the tv commercial is to be believed, reese's cups were invented by a guy eating a chocolate bar on a subway who accidentally fell into the lap of somebody with an open peanut butter jar. Odd, that. Anyway, maybe my politics are an odd amalgam that somehow makes perfect sense to me.
