Asinine Legislative Effluvium & Corruption

Postby anchorsaweigh » Sun Jan 05, 2014 8:22 pm

The subject group's acronym has become well known as identifying a lobbying and influence peddling group of the rich and large corporations. Reports in 2013 indicated that the negativity erupting around the acronym was causing the group's leaders to consider concentrating more on the "E" and "C" portions of the acronym. We certainly don't need more effluvium or corruption.

Voters in Wisconsin should be wary of any state/local office candidate who is a member of this organization (other than those individuals who join the group in an effort to get access to and expose the effluvium). Being a member of this group could identify a candidate or office holder that is incapable of and/or not interested in addressing needs in Wisconsin nor doing what is best for the people of Wisconsin.

On a related note, when the WI Dept. of Employee Trust Funds first posted this
http://etf.wi.gov/news/ht-budget-solutions.htm
the subject group was listed as a supporter of State Budget Solutions at the bottom of the SBS home page. The group's logo has since been removed from that webpage. The ETF report notes that SBS used an inaccurate method and incorrect assertions to come to a false conclusion about the strength of Wisconsin's state retirement system. Seems like more effluvium from a group with questionable motives.

So that's what ALEC stands for. Thanks for clarifying.

He's not saying why, apparently.
