Campaign 2016

Postby DCB » Thu Dec 12, 2013 8:51 pm

Who's running for President! Who's your favorite!

( Personally, I don't intend to think about this for another two years. But hopefully this will short-circuit a thread-jack. )

It might be wise for people to focus on the 2014 mid-term elections, rather than engage in a lot of useless speculation. We all know the usual suspects.

One of the problems with the US political system is that it buys into the big national media horse race hype earlier and earlier, rather than focus on real issues and local and state races. Local and state races and how issues are dealt with will have as much to do with who emerges as candidates as the long-range ambitions of politicians or the money needs of big media.

I have every confidence that Kim Jong-un will win with 110% of the popular vote.

my neighbour the redneck was saying the other day that obama was actually born in kenya. so i suppose that means that arnold schwarzenegger can run now. but he rubs me the wrong way. but c f k of argentina is about to be term-limited out, so she may need a job. god damn term limits.

Kurt seems to be subtly promoting a John Kerry/Rahm Emanual ticket, but I don't see it.

I like Kerry's foreign policy skills as Sec. State, but Emanual's handling of public schools is not going to endear him to Democrats.

McCain: If election were tomorrow, Clinton would be president

Unfortunately, the election isn't tomorrow.

I'm in. I used to think he was a one trick pony but he's really been hitting it out of the park lately. Starting as Kenny Powers agent in Eastbound, Mud, Killer Joe, the best 15 minutes of Wolf of Wall St., True Detective, and I haven't even seen Dallas Buyers Club yet.

I think it's high time for a Willie Nelson presidency.

How bout a Willie Nelson, Ted Nugent general election. Those would be some damn entertaining debates.

It appears Oscar agrees with me. I don't know that a Best Actor has ever been followed up by a presidential run but if it did that would be alright, alright, alright.

My guess is that Nugent would stop shaving and bathing and start crapping his pants to avoid the debates.
