INVESTIGATIONS OF POLICE-INVOLVED DEATHS

Postby Amelia Royko Maurer » Mon Nov 04, 2013 10:26 am

Since 1890 every Wisconsin officer who took a life was cleared of any wrongdoing. Every single one.

Why we need investigations and reviews done by those who have no stake in the outcome:

“Just the culture of the police department, people care very much about each other they depend upon each other so when something happens to one officer within a department, it effects everyone.” - Tresa Martinez - Head of Critical Incident Stress Management for Madison Police Department

We need to reexamine the standard for deadly force and be certain deadly force is used only when there are no other options:

“We need law enforcement professionals who are not operating from a vantage point of fear and paranoia where their own self-preservation trumps all other concerns," Jonathan Taylor, Professor, Cal State Fullerton

Please sign this petition for a Bill written by a Sheriff Deputy Chief. It protects civilians and cops:

Whatever happened to your claim of "lastly" on this subject and why post this under national politics and government?
