Police unions: the bell tolls for thee

Postby Huckleby » Tue Jul 30, 2013 11:35 pm

Scott Walker creates stir with talk of stripping police and firefighter union rights

I could be wrong, but my impression is that the police and firefighters unions stood with Scott Walker when Scooter went after the other public unions. Obviously many individuals chose to support the teachers & AFSCME, but my guess is most of the police and firefighters were Scott Walker voters.

Now they might get a taste of the "conquer" phase of "divide and conquer"

You've got plenty of taste for "divide," that much is clear.

Why start a second thread on this issue?

Obviously I didn't make sense of your cryptic thread title. Why wouldn't you just point out that there is a similar thread instead of getting pissy about it?

Why is it OK to be unfriendly in an online forum, when being similarly irritable, impolite or insulting is considered anti-social in person?

why? why? why?

Because that is what Henry Vilas does.

Not that I don't think Henry is ever more then 10 seconds away from yelling at some damn kids to get off his lawn, but I'm not sure why you think that line was at all pissy (especially for Mr. Vilas). I'm also not sure how "Act 10 Redux" is cryptic unless you've spent the last two years living under a rock. In a foreign country. With no outside news.

That persumes that some people are not just as unfriendly in person as they are on the internet.

Clearly I am extremely stupid for not connecting the thread title to the news story. Under-a-rock stupid. I think the forum should be inclusive, perhaps bilingual too.

Neat trick: copy the foreign text, paste it into Google with the word "translate" in front of it.
