How can cultural elitists like ourselves put TV in the Culture category? Well, where the hell else is it going to fit?

Anyone catch this "flick" on SyFy last night? I won't give away the ending, but it involves a senior citizens home, a great white, a chain saw and a grizzled looking Tara Reid!

Damn! I meant to watch that and I forgot. I saw an ad for it a month or so ago, and it reeled me in, so to speak.

I watched about three quarters of it, then turned the channel in disgust. For one who really likes sci-fi I thought this was one of the worst I have seen.

Special effects were terrible and looked totally faked with a poor overlay. The acting wasn't great either. The plot seemed to be mainly to show gore more than anything else. Not that golre bothers me, but it seemed that was the main point the producers wanted to run with.

Move over, Sharknado, you have company.

Avalanche Sharks makes Sharknado look like Citizen Kane*
