Good thing they have a voter id law to catch this guy. Which by the way includes student id(without address), a voter registration card(no picture) or a utility bill among others.

Wait. This was not a voter ID thing, it was a guy trying to get his name on the ballot. It was nomination papers.

Nomination papers are signed like any other petition (a recall petition, for instance) and have the signer's address, name, etc. The signatures (at least in WI) can then be verified or not. If a signature can't be verified it's not counted.

The signer is not prosecuted.

Has nothing whatsoever to do with Voter ID.

It was supposed to be a joke about more stupid GOP tricks?

Then I didn't get it and it's a fail on my part.

Maybe we need another congressional hearing.

Jack Villamaino, Former GOP Candidate, Gets 4 Months In Jail For Felony Voter Fraud

While these actions may call into question the integrity of the vote, voter ID laws, the most frequently proposed measure to combat fraud, wouldn't have done anything to prevent them.

Analysis of the resulting comprehensive News21 election fraud database turned up 10 cases of voter impersonation. With 146 million registered voters in the United States during that time, those 10 cases represent one out of about every 15 million prospective voters.

10 cases in 12 years. Fuck you and your voter id bullshit.
