I still remember Simon Sparrow with his blue robe preaching on the State Street Mall years ago. In today's New York Times, there is an article about an outsider art collection that was donated to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Included in the donation were two pieces by Simon, including Assemblage with Faces. There is a nice paragraph in the article about him also.

I held a yard sale a couple decades ago and Sparrow bought some small rounded hematite stones that I found on a sandbar along the Lower Wisconsin Riverway. I assume he wanted to incorporate them in his art. I wonder if they are in the one of the pieces in the Philadelphia collection.
