RIP Marques Bovre

Postby O.J. » Mon Feb 11, 2013 4:52 pm

Story here.

Sad day. Besides being an extremely talented musician, he was one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet. When my best friend's father was dying of brain cancer a few years ago, Marques gladly volunteered to come over and play a few songs for him. That gesture overwhelmed the family, and will never be forgotten.

RIP, Marques, and my best goes out to your family.

Yeah he really encouraged me as a musician !

When he was hosting the open mic at the union he let me play first all the time.

And when his band won the battle of the bands at the union he let me play a couple songs as a warm up act.

But what really bothers me is he was younger than me but he died before me.

It's too bad he never got the shot at the big he should have got.

Dang. I still remember certain aspects of that night vividly.

Remember back in the early nineties, when MB&tET's were practically the Crystal's house band? Some incredible shows (one of Linus's B-days comes to mind). A very sad day indeed.
