Is Hulsey running for governor?

Postby jjoyce » Wed Nov 30, 2011 12:14 pm

He certainly seems to be running against Scott Walker in this "ad," which doesn't seem to contain any mention of the recall effort.

It just hit the front page of Huffington Post.

I would have preferred to see more of the phone call and less Bret. But it's a good start.

This is good news, or a mere distraction to keep attention away from Feingold.

Everyone knows Hulsey has a dictatorial edge and he's Madison centric. He, like the WI dem party, thinks Madison IS the state.

This is the gift of Madison crazy that keeps on giving. Guaranteed loser.

Exactly. It's way too good to be true.

Feingold is just Urban Meyering this whole thing.

Hulsey as a stalking horse for Feingold? Interesting idea.

I admit, I would much prefer seeing Feingold lose to Walker than Hulsey losing to Walker.

Both are favorites but Feingold would be more favorite. More favorite... to lose.

Here's a question you'll never answer: Why?

That would require 1) Feingold to run and 2) Feingold to come in behind Walker. Neither appears remotely likely at this point.

I almost agree. I would much prefer seeing Walker lose to Feingold than Walker losing to Hulsey.

Anyway, it doesn't look to me like Feingold has any intention of running for Governor, but even if he does, he gains no benefit from announcing before the outcome of the recall attempt is clear. Unlike Hulsey, he doesn't need time to convince potential supporters that he would be a good candidate and a good governor. Hulsey has a much longer row to hoe on that matter.

No salacious puns on that last line, please.

Feingold will run if the recall petition drive hits one out of the park, i.e., if he thinks his victory will be a sure thing.

Otherwise he won't.

He can't afford to go 0-2 in the modern era.

I mean this in the nicest possible way, Hulsey is slightly crazy. Not the good crazy.

Sly had him on this morning.

Sly sort of starts giving it to him at the 8-minute mark. At about 13:10, he doesn't say 'no' to the question "Are you running for governor?"

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Despite numerous reports saying he’s all but set to become Ohio State’s next football coach, Urban Meyer said Wednesday that is not the case.

“I have not been offered any job nor is there a deal in place,” the former Florida coach said in a statement released through ESPN, where he is a college football analyst. “I plan on spending Thanksgiving with my family and will not comment on this any further.”

Democrat Russ Feingold has decided he will not be a candidate for political office next year, taking himself out of the running in 2012 for either U.S. senator or for governor in the event Democrats force a recall election against Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

New Ohio State coach Urban Meyer says he would not have returned to coaching this year for any other job.

Meyer, the former Florida coach and Ohio native, was officially hired Monday by Ohio State, a program with a glittering past that has suffered through a difficult year of NCAA violations.

If the petition numbers are good enough, Feingold is a lock.

I'd like to believe you, but I don't.
