Sonic on University = wth?????

Postby kweetech » Thu Jan 22, 2009 1:44 pm

Why in the hell would you put a Sonic drive-in on University, way out the west side? So folks can sit in their hybrid suvs and wonder where the lowfat items on the menu are?

If you've ever driven in this city, and want to put a drive-in that appeals to the proper audience...E. Wash is a no brainer.

Who's the dumbass in charge over at Sonic?

A quick google search and you will find that Sonic is run by Sonic the Hedgehog.

People on the west end of University talk like this, people on the east end of University talk like this.

Perhaps you missed the thread, but Sonic plans on opening a number of Madison locations.

Just looked at their menu on line. The grilled chicken wrap looks good. But all in all, the whole menu looks like one from a hundred other places (i.e., Culvers).

Why anyone would get too excited about yet another franchise burger chain is beyond me, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

There were tons of cars there when I drove by on Saturday. Do we really need 8 more locations of a mediocre place like this? My hometown couldn't even support one, and we seemed to have no problem with all the other usuals staying in business...

Vox populi, vox Dei, buddy. If there were tons of cars there, then yes, it would appear we do "need" it.

That's the thing with venture capitalists, they get to venture into finding out the answer to your question. But, hey, it's their money and they're creating a few jobs in the process. So they way I look at it, it's no shingles off my roof. But I am enjoying the faux outrage that is popping up in places. Check out some of the "reader" "comments" adjoining the article on madison.com. Yes, indeed, the opening of the first Madison Sonic is the breaking of the first seal of the apocalypse.
