Dems Ousted in Recall Vote Over Gun Law

Postby Sandi » Wed Sep 11, 2013 3:19 pm

When it comes to gun control laws, I doubt that there are very many low information voters. Everyone knows where they stand on gun control regardless of the rhetoric from either side.

This was close, but the sensible gun owners won.

COLORADO SPRINGS — Two Colorado Democrats who provided crucial support for a package of state gun laws were voted out of office on Tuesday in special elections seen as a test of whether swing-state voters would accept gun restrictions after mass shootings at a Colorado movie theater and a Connecticut elementary school.

The vote, which came five months after the United States Senate defeated several gun restrictions, handed another loss to gun-control supporters and gave moderate lawmakers across the country a warning about the political risks of voting for tougher gun laws.

Guns are not the problem. Guns are the solution.

Yup, recalls are OK when it's an issue you support.

No. recalls are "OK" when the people want one, no matter the issue.

Period. That included Walker's recall.

So you disagree with Ronald Reagan...
"I don't recall'' or its equivalents occurred at least 124 times in his eight hours of Iran-Contra testimony.

Yah, that was my thought as well. They sure weren't recalling people over the new marijuana laws.

Bunch of counties in the north of Colorado are also trying to secede:

All I know is if I was choosing a place to vacation or move, I know where I wouldn't go. I can't believe this kind of stuff is good in the long run for the economy of a particular area. It's not the kind of thinking that goes with or brings prosperity. Maybe the people in those areas have other priorities.

Perfectly reasonable and respectable from a state which obviously embraces libertarian principles.
