Detecting a tone of impatience in the air? A feeling of grumpiness, a sense of entitlement, an atmosphere of prickliness?

I'm blaming the elongated winter. Really, really wish I had picked this year to head to spring training. I need optimists around me.

Weren't Schick, Daisy and Paco flirting with 20k before they bailed?

I went to a Surly tasting party last summer. It was OK, but I haven't bought any.

Are you hanging out in the dorms?

Come on now, it's March. The third month of 2012 was an anomaly, like a bad donut or a good scone. You check with me a month from now and if the snowblower isn't tucked in it's summer corner, you will see surly.

And here I thought this would be a discussion of expensive but very well-made steel bicycle frames.

It would be nice if the lead story on the local news each night wasn't, "A year ago today Madison saw a high of 81 degrees!" along with footage of people walking around in shorts and t-shirts. Stop rubbing it in our faces, fuckers.

JayJay, the maple syrup folks are very happy with this weather. Last year's unseasonably warm early spell destroyed their harvest. Winter sports industry happy, too. So quitcher belly-achin'!

You sure about that, Stu? It takes a lot of consecutive warm days and cold nights to make a sugarbush season. The sap needs to run up the tree while it's warm and drop back at night and it needs to stay that way.

What I see shaping up is a sudden warmup that gets the sap in the tree and it stays there. Same result as last year.

You are what you read.
Then take a break from TDPF.
Not too much optimism here.
