I think we had a plow go down the middle of our street early last night because there's sort of a ridge of snow all the way down the street.

Or maybe it's an odd shaped drift.

We got two emails that said they were plowing. So there's that.

Gah - still absolutely no plowing on my street yet at all. It's un-fucking-believable.

Where did this 3" edict come from? Do other minor metro areas have these limits?

It just shouldn't be this difficult. I wonder if there is some hotshot grad student in Civil Engineering at UW who wants to try to tackle this problem for us. Clearly, our elected officials are at a loss. (Wasn't this a big reason why Chisel-which got ousted in the first place? Paul isn't fairing much better, imho.)

I really think poor forecasting is more to blame this time.
It seems that we got more dumped on us than anyone had expected.

Looks like you'll have to wait until the snow stops.

The city plans to begin plowing residential streets using contractors as soon as the snow stops.

My street was barely passable this morning and I almost didn't make it. Luckily, I'm an excellent driver.

So... tomorrow or the next day, then?

I feel like I'm a pretty decent snow driver, but this Honda Civic I now drive does not climb very well. However, when the neighbor down the street couldn't get up our street with his giant diesel pickup, my credentials as a man were restored.

City plowed my street at like, 2:30 PM. Silver lining - Mr. Plow took the time to make sure he didn't snow-ridge anyone's driveway.

My street hasn't been plowed yet, but with the warm afternoon the snow got mashed down to where nobody could get stuck. Unfortunately if we have colder weather the next few days (and it seems we will) we'll be back to frozen ruts again. Funny to think just a few days ago everyone had their bikes out.

Edit: 7:40 pm, they just did the first pass. No complaints, we're very low priority.

It looks like the city is gonna do a second day of snow emergency. So all you downtown street parkers, get over to the odd side of the street while there are still spots.
