Favorite dishes in town

Postby narcoleptish » Mon Dec 03, 2012 11:41 am

Is dish the right term? Entree perhaps? You know what I mean.

I'm far from a foodie, almost an anti-foodie, but I still have my favorites.

The veggie enchiladas and anytime fish fry at Daisy Cafe.
Walnut burger at Harmony.
Yellow curry at Ha Long bay
Bolognese pasta at Greenbush

Spicy hotpot at Fugu. Order from the Chinese menu--the waitstaff will help if your Mandarin has seen better days. Also the cold spicy bean noodles, same place.

B-4 at Ha Long Bay. I don't even know what it is, I just order by the number.

These may not necessarily be my all-time favorites but I'll order these 9 out of 10 times.
    White Pizza at Angelo's.
Albanian sausage and eggs at Sofra.
Garibaldi with mixed peppers at Paisan's.
Chicken with white sauce pasty at Teddywedger's.
Squash curry at Curry in the Box

I don't know if they still make it this way. The best grilled cheese I ever had was at Harmony. They used oval Gonella bread, tomato and onion. It's a divine combination.

The Brocach uses whole grain wheat bread, avocado, peppers and lots of sharp cheddar.

My favorites/guilty pleasures/fallbacks when nothing else on the menu catches my eye include:

The snails at Tapas Rias. (I hope they find a new location and reopen.)

The White House sandwich at Paisan's. (I still miss the one at the old Crandall's that included asparagus. I also miss their smelt fry).

Alambre de cameron at Abuelos.

I used to like the Great Dane hilldale Sunday brunch until I developed acid reflux. Can't handle big meals anymore. I like that dish who works at the Hubbard Ave diner. Is she single?

My favorites are the mac and cheese with pulled pork at Graze, the Friday ribs special at Jordandal Cookhouse, and the frites at Brassiere V.
