I'm sorry, Taco, but before we give you a trophy, you need to explain this liason:

And now, for the TOP THREE (tm).

My rationale for this triumvirate is that they have contributed content that people have regularly and specifically sought out on TDPF. They are also people whose contributions have caused people to approach me in real life and ask about them. I've met, conversed, dined and drunk with all three and enjoyed it. I would not have known any of them were it not for TDPF.

With that preamble out of the way, #3 is Marvell.

One of my biggest regrets in life is losing track of Marvell's epic series of posts telling the story of his adventures aboard an Alaskan fishing boat. It was riveting stuff. People stayed late at their work places to catch up on it, including most of the Isthmus staff. There have been a few ongoing series on these pages (blunt's dispatches about jail, Rob Dz's "Ask a black man") that have been great, but few have been better written or executed than Marvell's ultimate fish story.

But M's other contributions to the site have been equally laudable for their humor and timing. Is anyone better at delivering a single sentence stinger?

Hip-hop hooray.

I kind of lost track of Marvell here but he is one of the folks that make it all worthwhile. I, too, met him in real life after sparring on the forum, and we proceeded to drink a beer or seven. He's all right.

When he turns up at my DJ gigs he always seems to know all the tunes and has has great asides ("Eliot Easton, baby!").

The fishing story also gets my vote for best writing on the forum, ever.

YOLO, beans.

Those were some crazy years for all of us and I have so much antibiotic in my "meat" that it's not like I'm going to catch anything.

Would I get Speared again? Probably not.

FYI - I'm all over Instagram these days.

I don't find Jason's reluctance to finish his list nearly as baffling as Isthmus failing to publicize the winners of the Beer and Cheese Fest poll (or at least explain why they aren't going to.)

The winners, along with Robin Shepard's picks, can be found here:

As for the top two Forons, I have issues with follow-through. That's part of the reason why I'm typing this right now. Thanks for the soul-searching opportunity.
