Ale Asylum

Postby anaranjado » Wed Oct 24, 2012 11:19 am

Anyone tried the new ale asylum? How is the food? I have tried a few of the beers in the past and liked them. I plan to try the new location as soon as I can figure out how to get to the parking lot.

As soon as you pass it heading north on Packers, just start taking rights.
Right on International
Right on Anderson
Right on Pankratz
Right into the parking lot
You're right there.

We ate there and it was fine but I don't remember what I had. Nice roomy interior on the ground floor with a smaller lounge upstairs.

I was there Wednesday, and noticed that a road was being paved that appears to offer access directly from International Lane. If it isn't done by now, it should be within the week.

The food menu has been expanded from the "old" Asylum. I've eaten there a couple of times and the food was fine, but of course the beer is the star so I can't provide much detail about the food.

There are at least a half dozen pizzas I need to try.

Those growlers of India Brown Ale were amazing a few weeks ago.

We were there with friends a few weeks ago and found it "OK". The pizzas are pre-fab, and a little pricey for what they are, but again, you're not going for the food. We were disappointed that many of the beers were out, although that's to be expected. Similarly, service may not be there thing either, as we were abandoned by our server about two-thirds of the way through the evening- odd, considering we were a table of ten. On a higher note, the mixed drinks were reasonable as reported by our non beer drinking friends.
