It's Over

It’s Over

I surrender to: many of us have not been taught to be critical thinkers or think that facts actually matter. We are blind to our own self-interests. The Republican Party chose a candidate that lies to us, and our media and our journalists don’t hold this candidate to facts and reality. His campaign actually said they are not interested in facts, and the silent response was deafening. Apparently many Americans don’t care that he lies. Really wealthy people have the need to have their narrow agenda point of view sold to all of us, not believing in the wonder of democracy’s multi-voice miracle. Our Supreme Court ruled corporations are “people.” My belief we are a democracy, or even that we’re a superficial democracy.
I do believe that “We the people” has crumbled us under the weight of obvious fear falsehoods that are somehow accepted by us instead of easily rejected. The reality is many of us still live only in our “fear brain.” And, I forgive all of us for not being smarter and knowing better, for we can only be where we are. So let’s enjoy watching our Democracy end, because it already has.

Our Supreme Court ruled corporations are “people.”

Really? Where did our Supreme Court rule that?

That is a pretty old court case, but will see if I can find it.

In the meantime there is a good discussion of it a Dean's World ( a blog in the old liberal tradition ) End Corporate Personhood.
