Everyone is touting this "1 billion dollar" figure. Every time I look into that it links to a governors press release with no statistical data or right wing hack groups.
Can we at least agree that, collectively speaking (entire state as a whole), there have been savings as a result of Act 10?
I am glad that Portage saved so much money that they are proposing to close two schools and possibly a third to balance their budget.
I'm not that familiar with the situation in portage. Perhaps there isn't enough population/economic resources available in the school district to justify thier existance? Either way I doubt that repealling Act 10 is going to remedy the situation to the extent that schools would somehow be able to remain open.
How come all of our neighboring states are doing much better with the same amount of time for job creation. Being an apologist doesn't give you much credit. Oooh, or maybe you can blame Obama.
Kind of like Illinois? Net job loss/gain isn't the ONLY factor one considers when attempting to determine the viability of a state's finances. I blame Obama for the fact that our national economy hasn't gotten any better. He himself asked us to before being elected to his first term, and is now asking that he get another 4 years.
