Favorite movie scenes

Postby narcoleptish » Tue Aug 21, 2012 12:15 pm

Finding the copper pipes scene from Moonstruck for the other thread and realizing that EVerything is on youtube now, made me start this thread.

Glengarry Glen Ross:
This full scene is blocked but here's part

True Romance:

Fear and Loathing:

I think the end (the best part) of this scene is cut off.

That made me think of great songs accompanying great scenes.

Yes, perhaps I'm childish, but the campfire/fart scene in Blazing Saddles always has me roaring and rewinding.

Wouldn't call it a great song, but it's a great accompaniment (if you like your movies nonviolent, give this one a pass):

Reservoir Dogs, Stuck in the Middle With You

Extra points for the song being part of the scene, and for Stephen Wright as DJ.

(wrong aspect ratio, sorry, but it's the only full-scene clip I could find with a quick search)

Another from Glengarry Glen Ross. Jack Lemmon cold calls a guy trying to sell real estate. Lemmon's use of little gestures, from flipping himself the bird to showing too much sock as he states how he isn't afraid of familiarity, are just masterful. Great use of the pouring rain at the end.

edit- After watching it again, I guess he didn't flip himself the bird. Still great.

I searched Youtube but couldn't find it. One of my all time favorites is from Gone With the Wind, when Rhett stares up the stairs at Scarlett for the first time. And Scarlett says he makes her feel like she's "got no drawers on!"
