Will Johnson now move to change the abortion position in the the official GOP platform?

We're gonna have to wait for him to finish the back nine at Sulgrave to get into that. You can only work so much between holes.

I didn't like the guy, but now he's staying in the race and saying he'll never drop out.

I admire that quality in an unelectable Republican.

Who needs obstetrics when you have badly-educated Republicans?

Ryan and Romeny are backpedaling, and even thise concession is bound to bite them.

Most zealots are of the "don't punish the baby for its fathers sins" or something along that line. Ryan supports the personhood amendment, which stands to call every fertilized egg a child. So he actually has conflicting positions on the issue.

For the record, I stopped and asked two Planned Parenthood protestors why they are not pushing legislation that required child support at conception and for tax code to include preborn children as deductions. They stammered and referred me to the prolife WI attorney.

This flight of fancy won't play in Peoria.

As goes Peoria, so goes the nation? Ha, good one!

The best thing that will come of this, besides the resignation of Akin, is the attention paid to the official, endorsed Republican platform on abortion, which is in draft form.

The question of the hour: Will they still stick to their extreme, no-exceptions-for-rape-or-incest Constitutional amendment position, especially since "Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan sharply condemned Akin's remarks and pledged that under a Romney administration, abortion would be allowed in the case of rape" ?

Me too. And he gets brownie points for exposing the extremism of the entire party during a presidential election.
