Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow

Postby Drinkslinger » Fri Jul 13, 2012 12:19 pm

Three Floyds has released "Apocalypse Cow." It is a Double IPA, 11% ABV. This is served in a 750ml bomber. Here's a blurb from thier website:

"This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.”

I thought it was very tasty play on a double IPA. the lactose milk gives it smoothness, but not overpowering. Cheers!

isnt that the same sugar that's used in milk stouts? I think it is... sounds interesting.
is it all citrus ipa or is there some malt backbone to it?

The OP's description made it sound like it has good malt balance. Can't wait to try it.
