The Zombie Scenario

Postby bdog » Fri Jul 27, 2012 5:09 am

You are part of the 1 percenters. No not THAT 1 percent, the 1 percent that is immune to the disease that has turned everyone else into zombies.

The zombies want to eat your brain. You love Madison and all it has to offer so you are definitely staying here.

Where would you hole up? Assume zombies can smell you so you can't just go somewhere off the beaten track. You are alone, or with 4 other people tops.

I guess my basic question is - what would be the best fortress in Madison to save you from the zombies? Kwik Trip and West Towne are right out.

What else would you have to worry about?

Ok I'm adding additional criteria.

They're vampire zombies. Sunlight kills them. But they could still be in tunnels and whatnot during the day.

They couldn't fly or anything. They could have torches. They would not use guns on moral grounds.

There would be animal zombies! Birds, mice, and (shudder) monkeys from the zoo.

Dead bodies would not suddenly come to life. Duh. That is so stupid.

No good. Steam tunnels, aka Zombie highway.

I'm throwing in another rub for giggles. As a nod to Anthony Zerbe's "Mathias" character (a TV newsman before the plague hit) in "The Omega Man", I'm giving the zombies a leader:

I'll just run some floodlights in those tunnels - I'd imagine that sun-phobic zombies wouldn't be able to tell the difference between sunlight and artificial light (since they are dead and all) - plus those access doors are windowless and easily sealable.

Probably that building owned by ATT on Mifflin at Henry. That thing seems locked up pretty tight. And there are plenty of places nearby you could gather supplies during the day. Otherwise the Court House or Police Station for the ammo stockpile.

I'm going with the basement of an isolated farmhouse in rural Florida--cuz I'm a traditionalist.

I'm bald, so I assume I'm dead with the first hour anyway
