States Rights? Right.

Postby wack wack » Thu Jul 12, 2012 8:53 am

Where are all the "states rights" Republicans now?

SAN FRANCISCO -- Federal prosecutors have filed civil forfeiture actions against an Oakland medical marijuana dispensary that bills itself as the world's largest, as part of a crackdown by U.S. authorities on California's massive cannabis trade.

Got to give credit where credit is due. Having seen first hand how dangerous and addictive these illegal drugs are, Obama isn't following along with the usual "Lets just legalize it, man!" mantra that most liberals like to chant.

Society needs to be protected from druggies, especially the ones who make up crap in order to justify having "medical" marijuana. If you can't go a day without your precious weed then you need to be locked up.

So are you in favor of banning even more dangerous and addictive drugs, such as alcohol and tobacco?

PB, you were talking about drugs. Or don't you think alcohol and tobacco are drugs? Or is it that you think marijuana is much more dangerous and addictive that those two?

Please clarify.

Yes, we're talking about drugs like pot not alcohol and tobacco. Please try and keep up.

One of the few things that Obama is doing right is going after the druggies. Are you saying he should also go after bartenders and cigar makers?

Well, it indicates directly that you don't know what a troll is, and you're still not willing to answer a direct question.

In light of the Fed's interference with activities deemed legal by the State of California, where are all the "states rights" Republicans now?

Never said that. Are alcoholics and tobacco addicts druggies?

So tell me how marijuana users are more dangerous than those who use legal drugs.

He should go after financial cheaters, that's what is destroying our country.

And peanut allergies kill more people in one year than marijuana has ever killed.

That and tax cheaters, including those who refuse to pay what is due.

Based on the numbers of young children dying due to prescription opiate abuse, I think that it would be smarter to first prescribe marijuana for severe pain.
The pharmacology of marijuana and opiates is truly apples to oranges. One can kill you, the other cannot. One causes constipation, side effects, depression, addiction, and physical withdrawal. Not to mention the neuroscience of opiates is unpredictable- reformed users have been known to alter their tolerance level based on place preference.
As far as states rights, no. THe repubs are not going to stand for this. The big pharma drugs have enough $$$ in their pockets. Making marijuana legal would nullify a shitload of opiates, antianxiety, and antidepressant meds out there. Big Pharma has a vested interest in keeping down a plant that is effective, close to free, and grows well in almost any condition.
