WHERE is UPDATED city of Mad cooling center info?

Postby Big_Sister » Tue Jul 03, 2012 3:15 pm

Cityofmadison.com as of this posting has info about Madison Metro servicing cooling centers of Monona Terrace and Warmer park currently and through sometime Saturday 7/7:

http://www.cityofmadison.com/news/view.cfm?news_id=3329

But the only info on the website I see as of this posting about the actual dates/hours of the cooling centers themselves is dated Monday 7/2 and refers only to availability on that Monday day and night:

I'm TRYING to guide/help some neighbors who need help and a cooling center.

I will be happy to stand corrected,as too blind to read a website, and/but will appreciate info about getting info for the many of us who may be looking for it.

I found this at channel3000.com:
Madison Mayor Paul Soglin said the city will keep two cooling centers open to help residents with the heat.

The city decided late Monday to open up Monona Terrace and the Warner Park recreation center overnight to help residents in need of relief from the heat. The Red Cross provided staff, water and beds for the overnight cooling shelters.

Soglin said the Warner Park recreation center will remain open as a cooling center through Saturday morning.

The mayor said Monona Terrace will remain open as a cooling center through Thursday morning.

After temperatures reached 97 in Madison today, Mayor Paul Soglin announced that the city would open two overnight locations for people in need of relief.

The Monona Terrace ballroom and Warner Park Recreation Center were opened for overnight guests at 9 tonight, Madison Fire Department spokeswoman Bernadette Galvez said.

Since the Red Cross is involved, you might want to give them a call at 233-9300.

If they bring beer they can come chill at my pad.

Bring your trunks if you wanna hit the pool (needs skimming).

I have a sign that states the penalty if you pee in it.

Don't be that person.
