Re: Why do you post here?

I post here because I just can't get enough of my own self impotence.

That, and the public demands it. I get a lot of fan mail, well... I don't actually "get" it in the physical sense, but I just feel it out there. My humor appeals to a select demographic of shifty-eyed folks who have the innate ability to read my stuff in the exact tone with which it was written. When this is done, when the perfect tone is applied and every crucial pause in speech is hit with pin point accuracy, it is a feeling, a verve really, to behold. Often satisfying the daily comedic requirements of these people for weeks at a time, and encasing them in a cocoon of warmth and good that can only be described along the lines of a burrito of levity.

That is what my writing does for these people, these random pockets of malcontents living off the grid with nothing but bad intentions and some ranchers unlocked wi-fi signal. My doses of the funny stuff could be the only thing keeping these restless souls from piling in an old school bus and bringing their own brand of bad to the world.

That's why I post.

Sometimes it amuses me, sometimes it irritates me, often it informs me. I'm a life-long Madisonian, and it has a very Madison sensibility about it.

That sounds about right for me, too, except I didn't grow up here, just moved here in '85.

The board used to have more personalities and fewer ideologues, which was nice. Even Ned loosens up and posts something genuine in the non-political threads once in a while. The newer conservative cookie-cutter posters are one-note and diarrhetic, feh.

They're like noisy blowhards who've decided to frequent my favorite bar. They haven't come in because they think it looks like a nice place to hang out, they've come to annoy the regulars. Total dick move, but it is their prerogative. If their steady yammer makes it tough to carry on a friendly conversation, too bad. I can shrug it off, tune it out (though "ignore" doesn't sit right with me), wait it out, or move on.

I can cut the shrug/wait groove for a while, I think.

We're still waiting for the rest of that novel you're working on.

I happen to think Ted Nugent is a bore and panders to his base all too often but I'm going to paraphrase him anyway.

I do it for the pussy.

"Ding" to begin MY second roun’
(like Gwen Stefani and E-V-E).
Butt, I’m not a “Rich Girl.”
To me, the forum is just an outlet
that I use for free.

Butt like electricity,
sometimes my words can shock thee.
And honestly, the double-meaning, like my EST,
happens like the saying: “Hindsight is 20/20.”

So get your mind out of the potty,
B/C I'm as innocent as can be.
Thus, if you don’t like my posts,
then just ignore lil’ ol’ Amy.

Butt in person, I’m a sensitive and shy bunny,
just like my Buddy,
and your negative words do hurt me.

And like “Lady and the Tramp” (a.k.a. Disney, dis-knee, or diss-me)
I’m looking for someone to share a bowl (just of spaghetti;)
And it doesn’t have to be gluten-free!
That was just for the one(s) who didn’t appreciate me.

I also post to say sorry and make things right,
like what didn’t happen on the swing that one night
(“Kick, Push” by Lupe F;)
And that eve’n when we were study-en;
as well as the morn that you came A knock-en.

I also post to let you know how much you mean to me,
Double-Entendre: “Let It Be,”
B/C if you know the real Amy,
then you know how much the Beatles (x2), as well as Gee-
Win-ston [or win some] mean to me
(and esp. my family;)
and deep down, “Juveni-le” and “Gin-u-wine-ly,”
I really AM a sweetie. [NED!!!]

Butt, contrary to popular opinion, it’s not all about me.
I also want to give a “shout out” to the LGBT community,
esp. if you are re-discovering your identity
(kind-a like me:)

So, “Stomach,” how’s that for pussy?
Why Don cha-cha ya’ll sign your names, like Brenda and me?
“Happy Friday” (He; he;)
[This time, I'm Earl-ie]
