That sounds GREAT. I didn't pull an all-nighter, but I am running on less than five hours of sleep for the third day running.

It was SO GOOD. I rarely make eggs, gonna have to do it more often.

Hope you catch up on sleep soon. One all-nighter is a lot easier to recover from than a stretch of not enough Zs.

Sounds like an utterance from the Scrabble world championships.

The big problem in Scrabble isn't too little Z but too much E. Something that I believe Gozer regularly refers to in his postings.

Thanks! I typically run on 6 hours a night, so it's not as bad as someone who needs a full 8. I make eggs once or twice week, but usually either Chinese egg-and-tomato soup or Japanese steamed egg custard (chawan mushi).

At this juncture I'm pretty happy that, while I would probably recognize Adele when I heard her, I couldn't hum you a single Adele tune. And I'm a really good hummer. (You heard me.)

Nice.) While I would blank for awhile if asked to hum something from her, I can pretty much guarantee that I'm going to wake up tomorrow with one in my head. I'll just sit there on the edge of the bed, Adeleing away.

Am I watching a Best Of Antiques Roadshow?

The last guy collected antique women's eyeglasses. The guy appraising it had to be an actor.

This lady paid 15 grand for a fake Faberge egg.

Earlier this week, I happened to land on an NPR station that was doing a story about the man who devoted his life to producing the first and only Yiddish-Japanese dictionary.

What impulse would drive a man to become Japan's leading expert on Yiddish?

That was what the people in the feature seemed to be wondering as well.

Wasn't there a guy associated with the UW who was an expert on the elf languages from the Lord Of The Rings?

Here is someone who has written a fly-fishing guide to the rivers of Middle Earth.

And here's someone who analyzed the coordinate system for the maps in the Lord of the Rings, complete with equations to project points on the map into other map coordinates, and then superimposed Middle Earth on a real map of Europe. That application of real 3D geometry made my day.
